SFR 155: How I’m Creating An Affiliate Army – Stephen Larsen

SFR 155: How I’m Creating An Affiliate Army

Jul 10th, 2018 anchorwave

I started listing out some of the most profitable campaigns I’ve seen or been a part of. Watch over the next 5 months, as I roll out about 6 of them to push me past the million dollar mark…

The value of an idea lies in the using of it. – Thomas Edison

One of the significant ways I’m planning to rockets to a million bucks this year is by implementing the most successful campaigns from my time at ClickFunnels in my own business.

I’m actively modeling those same strategies in my own business. Why? Because they work. I had a hand in creating a lot of them, so it makes sense to use the same strategies in my business, right?

Over the next five months, I’m going to be sharing these strategies – and most importantly – how I implement them, with you.

A while ago, I started thinking through the strategies that I’ve been part of – or seen others pull off – where just the one campaign has made a lot of sales and cash.

Two Comma Club

It got me to thinking, “What if I got a whole bunch of campaigns, and did all of them?”  Imagine how cool that would be! What would that do to your chances of success?

So  I started putting together six different unique campaigns… (Watch what I’m doing from June through the end of October.)  I’ve been working on this plan for quite a while…

I’d been working at ClickFunnels for about three months; I was working on Biohacking Secrets at the time…

I’d notice Russell just over my shoulder doing his stuff. One day he did this cool presentation where he showed people the power of being an affiliate.

And then something magical happened.

Russell turned around, and he said, “Hey, do you wanna make the videos for this?”

This was a major catalyst for me – it gave me the confidence to teach what I was doing.

On the outside I was like, “Yeah,” but on the inside, I was like, “Oh my gosh, this is crazy, right? Holy crap… it’s Russell Brunson.” I was pretty sure lightning would strike me if I didn’t do a good job.

We started going through the different topics and coming up with various topics to include in the training.

I stayed up super late at night filming and re-filming. I don’t know if Russell knows I did that… but I was so scared that it wasn’t going to be good enough.

Each video was only 15-minute teaching a single powerful strategy. I wanted them to be amazing, so I’d film and re-film, back and forth, back and forth until I got it right.

Then Jon Parks came and did a fantastic job teaching incredible Facebook strategies. And that’s how Affiliate Bootcamp was born.

Affiliate Bootcamp

I have a Facebook group, where share a lot of my strategy sessions. It’s where I bring up a lot of things that I’m thinking of throughout the day. It’s called The Science of Selling Online, go check it out – it’s free.

The Science of Selling Online

Recently, I did a deep dive with my group on How to Create an Affiliate Army… It was funny because half the people on that Facebook live told me that they joined ClickFunnels because of those Affiliate Bootcamp videos.

So you can see how effective a strategy it was – which is why I want to create my own campaign and my own affiliate army.

Okay,  so before we go any further, I need to get this off my chest. It’s been driving me nuts. I’m starting to get all itchy about it:

Campaigns are not ads! Campaigns are EVENTS.

Campaigns are events that you structure to happen within a period of time. Campaigns create pressure, intense interest, and movement that you can use to drive potential customers to your sales page.

I’ve watched multiple people become wealthy with just one campaign. The 2 Comma Club Award on my wall – that’s the result of ONE campaign…

Stephen Larsen Expert Secrets

So when I say ‘campaign,’ I don’t mean ads… Facebook ads, YouTube ads or Google ads – those are ad platforms NOT campaigns, NOT an event! Putting out some ads and thinking you’ve created an event is destroying the term. Rant Over!

A campaign might include ads, but ads are NOT a campaign. A Seven-Day Launch – that’s a campaign. Ads are only part of the launch strategy…

When Russell launched Expert Secrets, he used a Dream 100 Campaign and an Affiliate Campaign to create mass interest – this made the launch of the book stand out amongst all the noise.

So before we get to how I’m going to create an Affiliate Army, let’s talk about the difference between the Dream 100 and Affiliates.

Dream 100 vs Affiliates

When I mention the Dream 100 Strategy, I feel like there’s this kinda ‘Meh’ attitude towards it…

I have one thing to say to that: “Just freakin’ do it – the Dream 100 works!”

We shipped out a whole bunch of packages yesterday to our Dream 100 – AGAIN. It’s going exceptionally well. It’s supers fun and effective.

For those of you who haven’t heard of it, ‘The Dream 100’ is a strategy where you pick out the top influencers that you’d like to work with – the people who already have an audience who could benefit from your product.

A Dream 100 person is an Influencer. They’re a ‘river owner.’ They own traffic. They own eyeballs.

Concerts, music and related things

You figure out who your customer avatar is  and where they hang out… then, whoever owns and controls those the audiences, they are your Dream 100 – Dana Derricks

Next, you court them by sending them interesting packages in the post to start building relationships and goodwill.

(If you want to learn more, I interviewed Dana Derricks who wrote a $2000 Book on The Dream 100 – check it out here)

With a Dream 100 influencer, my ultimate goal is to do a joint venture, like a webinar with them because they have already have a list that would be interested in my product.

Young people working

An important cornerstone of a Dream 100 campaign is to provide value. Before you approach a Dream 100 Influencer and ask them to promote you (or do a joint venture), you need to ask yourself:

Have I built up enough goodwill with this person?  Whether that’s by buying their stuff, or by contributing to their community – or them, directly – Dana Derricks

The Dream 100 is a long-term campaign because it’s based on relationships and adding value.

For example; when we were getting the Expert Secrets book out of the door, Dave Woodward was able to put together this cool campaign inviting people to promote the Expert Secrets book.

Who made that list? Influencers. A and B list influencers, maybe even some C list. People who owned traffic, people who already had a list. That’s Dream 100s style strategy.

However, Affiliates are approached in a very different way…

When affiliates promote my product, they might not have much of a following yet. It’s probably not worth me doing a specific webinar with most affiliates.

For affiliates, I create assets to make it simple for them to promote my product. I aim to make it as painless as possible for them to share my offer. Let me show you how this works:

If you log into your ClickFunnels account, I’ll show you a great example of how to make life easy for your affiliates.

(If you don’t have a ClickFunnels account, you’re crazy…. You can get your free trial accounts at Yes, it’s an affiliate link, okay? – Go get it. It’s awesome.)

If you log into your ClickFunnels account and hover over your profile pic in the top right corner of the dashboard (next to ‘Help’) – Next, pick ‘Affiliates’ from the drop-down menu.

Clickfunnels Affiliates

You’ll find a unique link that you can send people to – so you can track your affiliate commissions.

Scroll down further, and you’ll see affiliate assets for every product ClickFunnels has. Click on one of these, and you’ll find pre-written emails, image assets, and pre-done videos that you can use to promote your chosen product.

Your Affiliate Tools

That way, all the affiliate has to do is grab an asset, add their affiliate link and press go. It’s super painless. It’s a great way for your affiliates to make a whole bunch of cash quickly without a whole lot of fulfillment time.

In the ClickFunnels Affiliate Bootcamp, as you go through the videos, every example I’m giving is teaching you how to promote and make cash as a ClickFunnels affiliate.

The strategies will work elsewhere – but being a ClickFunnels affiliate is so lucrative –  that you’d be crazy not to promote ClickFunnels!

It’s a win/win situation for both ClickFunnels and the affiliate.

Affiliate Outrage

A little while ago, I was with  Russell in his office, talking about campaigns.  I mentioned that one of the campaigns I wanted to run was my own Affiliate Bootcamp.  He was smiled and said, “Yeah, that’s a super cool thing to do – because you train people how to sell for you.”

So here’s my plan:

The ClickFunnels Affiliate Bootcamp goes through strategies for YouTube, podcasts, blogs and loads of other great stuff – However, for my affiliate training, I want to add strategies that have only come into play during the last 2 years. For example:

  • Chatbots
  • Offerwalls
  • Instagram
  • New FB group Strategies

I want to train my own affiliate army and create an affiliate strategy that teaches people how to promote my stuff – ’cause it’s freakin’ awesome.

At 21, I realized that successful people are not renaissance men. They’re not good at everything, and they don’t ‘do’ everything. They’re great at orchestrating and putting all the pieces together.

Business Team With Lamp Head

For Example:

I love YouTube, but I’m not a genius at it – So why would I teach YouTube? Let’s have a person who is a genius it teach instead.

I love Instagram; it’s cool. (We’re at 11 and a half thousand followers now) But I’m not going to teach Instagram because I’m not an expert.

Instead, I’ll grab some of the most trusted people from my team and have them teach the incredible skill sets that they’ve mastered

They’ll spend 10 -15 minutes teaching strategy; they’ll show you how to promote and make money on their favorite platform. They’ll use my product strategically to show examples. Does that make sense?

I’m creating an affiliate army by teaching people how to be affiliates for anybody. If they don’t promote my stuff, it doesn’t matter, they’re on my list. I’ll show them why promoting my stuff is freakin’ profitable.

There’ll be amazing affiliate commissions and an affiliate contest.

The top ten affiliates will fly out for a day or two, and we’ll work on funnels together. I’ll help build your businesses; I’ll help you do whatever you need to. That’s part of the prize I’m going to give.

man with a champion cup

Where I did I learn this strategy? It was part of the Expert Secrets launch. There was a Dream 100 campaign, but there was also an affiliate campaign. As I said at the start of this article – I’m modeling all the successful strategies I learned at ClickFunnels in my business – After all, I’d be crazy not to, right!

Anyway, thanks for following my journey – I appreciate you. Again go to if you want to be on that list and watch the free training.

Affiliate Outrage

Remember to watch how I’m unrolling the campaigns; it’s going to be very methodical. I’m going to talk about a lot of cool stuff over the next few months – so stay tuned for updates.

If you have anything that you wish was in the training, then let me know!

I’m excited for what’s happening.  If you want to watch what I’m doing, feel free to follow along at
